Standards / confidentiality

Counselling is a private and confidential form of help. This means that we will not give your name or any information about you to anyone outside Relate unless there is genuine concern that someone is at risk - either a client or a third party, especially a child. Such concerns would normally be discussed with clients before any further action is taken.

The only other circumstance when confidentiality could be breached is if notes were to be subpoenaed by a Court of Law as part of legal proceedings.
